Why do the British always need somebody to blame? Why are the british blaming the Americans for the total cock up in Iraq. Are we not an independant soverign state. The reason Blair decided to send troops to Iraq was that he thought along with simpleton Bush that it would be an easy victory and that he would be bathed in glory and the world would kiss his *** and tell him how f**king wonderful he was.He could have told Bush to sod off but didnt. The majority of the British population backed this ******** and now its gone **** up they do the usual british thing and blame somebody else for their cock up.Britain went into this war of its own free will and because the people of Iraq dont fight fair (they dont have tanks planes helicopters but plenty of courage)and are kicking the **** out of us we blame America.Get real you whining bastards with a bit of luck we might learn a lesson |
As an American (thumbs down already from most of you I'm sure) I have to admit that today's mess in Iraq is mostly our fault. I say mostly because it was the British who decided to redraw the maps back in the 30's to make Iraq what it is today. So this whole mess can be traced back to you. (Sunnies, Sheia, and Kurds living together in piece and harmony like in an early 70's coke commercial, what a lovely idea.)
When did a country reshaping the world to it's own ends, become so offensive to the Brits? The very day they lost the power to do it themselves, is my guess. Face it, English history is filled with you conquering primitive lands to build an empire. (Using the men from previously conquered countries, I might add.) So before you people start hating on America, try to remember where we learned this rotten behavior from. |
Recieving state benefits in holland as a british citizen. how to go about it? I'm English and am amazed at the ease Europeans receive our state benefit. I wish to make a life in Europe and am some what an orphan and can only rely on myself so should all go **** up. how reliable is state support in Holland and other European countries? |
First of all let's dispel this myth that you can just move to another country and get benefits - you cannot. The rules are the same throughout the EEA, although each country has a slightly different social security system.
To prevent benefit tourism, you can only claim what nationals of your new country of residence can claim ONCE you are exercising your treaty rights. This means that you must be:
a) habitually resident; ie resident for more than at least 3 months;
b) be employed, self employed, studying or otherwise financially self sufficient.
So if you want to go to the Netherlands to look for work, you will not be covered for any benefits under Dutch social security until you have started work and worked for some time. You may however, be able to claim your unemployment benefit from the UK for up to three months under certain conditions when you first move there.
Returning British citizens who have been outside the country for some time or who have never worked in the UK also have limited rights to both contributory (NI Contribution related benefits) and non contributory benefits as well as NHS treatment.
There are also other benefits that are paid from your country of origin. A classic example is the winter fuel benefit paid to British pensioners in sunny climes abroad. This is not paid by the Spanish authorities but by the British government.
Here are links which will explain it all in more detail, including specifically the Dutch social security system.

Should Action be taken to remove the BNP form the British political scene? Just wandering what the yahoo internet community thinks about the BNP after Saturdays protest. With everything in the economic climate being colder than a witches tit does Britain need the BNP and their fascist regime or can Britain band together and actually remove them from existence in the political scene. Just wandering what everyone thought. |
I think support for the BNP will fall considerbly if and when Labour loses the next election. I think the white working class protest vote would then go back to Labour.
However, I do agree that the major parties need to use a different tactic against the BNP. For a long time, their tactic has been to ignore them, refusing for example to debate them head-to-head for fear of giving them publicity and legitimacy. This tactic now needs to change because the BNP can no longer be ignored. They need to be confronted more directly. The major parties should not be afraid to debate them head-on. This means that the mainstream parties need to show potential BNP supporters that they can address the issues that concern them.
The best disinfectant is fresh air. The major parties need to have more confidence that, if they debated the issues raised by the BNP more openly, that they would be able to convince people not to vote for the BNP. If they don't have such confidence, then they should look more carefully at their policies. These policies do not just relate to race and immigration but also to issues such as Europe, crime, education and housing. |
Fenian trying to awake the British lion again? That awful and cowardly attack on the British soldiers in Ireland yesterday,
How do the IRA think this will help them?
Dont they know that the British army can come down to county Armagh and other Catholic areas and crush them in 5 minutes?
Dont they also know that Britains can have foot soldiers walking into the Irish Parliaments in less then 3days with a full scale invasion?
So why are they once again poking the stick at the British lion?
All for what? more tit for tat? |
| Do you really think that Britain will come down on Ireland for this. There is no way they will invade Ireland, and the IRA knows it. They will fight like they have for generations, a long slow fight that will deteriorate the will of the British. With wars already in Iraq and Afghanistan the British people will tolerate the death of their soldiers even less, and will be more inclined to give in. |
Do the Royal Family just reflect normal British behaviour? With the latest tit-bit being reported in the written media (a scoop) the Royal Family is probably not all that far off the British population habits.... it's just not 'aired' to much |
| I hope not, there are millions of decent folk in this country |
What is she trying to say? She is supposed to be British? I don't know what this means, someone British please explain:
btw, it's almost 2am here, I need some kip.... damn I was **** over tit, completely faced. :)
|
"kip" is sleep.
"**** over tit" means... falling over.
"faced" is probably short for the more common "shitfaced", meaning drunk.

Iraqi Justice System places no value on the British red caps? www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-e…
Is it just tit for tat. A kangaroo court or a sign of things to come. A free pass to all. Is it time to get out yet (completely)? What are your thoughts? |
Well as an Iraqi Brit I have to be fair, whereas I do admit that the legal system in Iraq isn't as sound as it is made to be, however, if the "prosecution" admit that the evidence they have over these individuals wasn't enough, then they can't proceed. Besides, the report says 400-500 people attacked the soldiers, thus, identifying specific culprits is a very hard thing to do in country that has no CCTV and people living in fear of being pursued by the defendant's contacts.
May I add that back in 2006, the country was in a shaken state in terms of security, and although I appreciate their effort in trying to hold a tight security in the southern region, it was not yet a time where you could play football outside with 50 bullets only and without a phone to use. |
What is this British girl saying to me? I don't know what this means, someone British please explain:
"btw, it's almost 2am here, I need some kip.... damn I was **** over tit, completely faced. :)"
